What is the average number of words that a translator can translate per day?

  • There are variations depending on the difficulty of the text and the type of file, but the average is around 2,500 words per day

We've got a big document to be translated and a very short deadline.

  • No problem - a team of translators will be set up who are specialists in your field. They will be supervised by a Project Manager who is responsible for the creation of a translation memory of recurrent terms to ensure that the terminology is harmonised between the translators. They will work closely with each other and also with the Project Manager so as to supply the best possible translation quality.

Can a French translator with a good knowledge of English translate a document from French to English?

  • Some unscrupulous agencies exist who give work to translators whose native language is not the target language, but we have never done that and never will do that. While a translator may have a very good understanding and the ability to speak a foreign language more or less perfectly, he or she can never master the nuances of that language, and that problem will be evident in the translation.

Will the next document will be translated by the same translator?

  • Wherever possible we will use the same translator to ensure that the vocabulary used is the same as that used in the previous translation.

We've got a document to be translated, but its content is strictly confidential. What should be done to preserve that secrecy?

  • We observe professional secrecy for all our translations.  We can confirm this in a document which will be signed by your company and by Oxford Translation Ltd. The same contract will be signed by our translator who will be responsible for the translation of your text.
